FIXING SCHEME

Reinforcement of the fixing of the hinges is provided by 35mm longitudinal steel strips positioned at the top and the bottom of the panel inner face. These steel reinforcements between the insulation core and the metal skin assure durable and long term fixing of intermediate hinges and roller carriers without the screws to penetrate through the metal sheets’ folds inside the polyurethane foam. Tecsedo only recommends to utilize 15 mm fixing screws. In case of a choice of longer screws by the door manufacturer/installer, a pilot hole has to be mandatory drilled in advance. Repeated opening and closing of the door is always assured as is the excellent long-lasting resistance to weather conditions

TRADITIONAL PANELS

We just recall that it is important that center of the hinge has not to be positioned below the upper edge (first position where the internal steel sheet bends from horizontal) of the inner face of the bottom panel.

FINGERSAFE PANELS

The specific joint detail complies with European Safety Standard EN 12604 and must be used on doors less than 2500mm in height. Please note that drawings refer to nominal dimension of panels, therefore production tolerances of the actual delivered panels have to be considered for a correct positioning of the hinges and for a proper articulation of the panels. We recommend to assemble some trial doors at your own company before shipping doors to the first customers. Many factors have also to be considered to judge implications for sufficient clearances for door flashings and surround:
• Width of the door (e.g.: having residential doors usually an horizontal positioning of the sections along the ceiling, there is always a panel warping of some mm for its own weigth, to be reduced with the utilization of Omega bracing bars, imperative for door span wider than 4.5 m)
• Number and distance of hinges utilized
• Deformation of the door for heat dilatation (panel bow, depending upon: a.- Temperature difference between inside and outside temperature, b.- Orientation of Door, c.- External finish colour)
• Hinges tolerances
• Door settlement after several cycles done
