Movement
Once production and relative packaging has been completed the pack can
then be lifted by using a balancing system which consists of two straps
which should be positioned under the polystyrene pallet, having
previously placed wooden slabs to avoid damage to the last panels in
the pack. To tie the pack correctly, the straps must be positioned at
1/5 of the total length of the pack from each end. In the case of small
packages (L< 4m), the use of a fork-lift is allowed. It is
important to remember that the packs must be handled with care and
caution as they represent the aesthetic part of the finished product.
The packs must be preferably stored under cover, and stacked maximum
three in a pile. The polythene film which protects the surface of the
panels must be removed as soon as possible in the case of packs or
panels left outdoors, and also when assembled on finished doors on
sites.
Loading and off-loading of vehicles
This is a very delicate operation, which should be carried out in
compliance with the above indications and according to the instructions
represented under (LOADING COMBINATIONS). It is recommended that
polystyrene sheets or other packaging material be placed between the
rows of packed panels in order to protect the edges of the panels, and
also to fix the load down with appropriate straps which are usually
supplied by the transporter, who should also check on the cargo at
regular intervals during the journey. It is advisable to protect the
corners of the packs on which the straps are placed to tie the cargo
together.
